What this site is

Charleston SC Mold Removal Guide is an independent directory covering 71 water damage restoration businesses serving Charleston SC and the surrounding area. It’s built for homeowners and property managers who need to figure out, quickly, which local mold and water damage contractors actually show up, do the work right, and treat customers fairly. If you’ve got a wet crawlspace or a musty smell that won’t quit, this is meant to save you the hours of scrolling through scattered reviews and vague company websites.

We also generate enquiries for local providers: when you ask to be matched with someone, we pass your request along to providers relevant to your request, and we may receive a referral fee for that. That’s part of how the directory stays free to use. It has no bearing on how any business is scored or ranked, which is covered below.

Where the listings come from

Every business profile starts with public business records: licensing, service areas, years operating, that kind of thing. On top of that, we pull in recent Google reviews for each company and synthesize the sentiment and recurring themes ourselves. We do not copy or republish review text. If you want to read what customers actually wrote, we link out to the business’s Google listing so you can see it straight from the source.

How rankings work

Rankings come from a published rubric applied to the data we collect, nothing else. No business pays to move up the list, and no business can talk its way into a better position. A listed company can flag factual errors on its own profile (wrong phone number, outdated address, a service they no longer offer) and we’ll correct it. What they cannot do is edit their own score, their sentiment summary, or their ranking. That stays tied to the data. Sponsored listings

Some pages may include sponsored placements. These are always labeled “Sponsored,” shown in a separate section from the earned rankings, and never blended into the ranked list itself. Paying for visibility does not change where a business lands in the actual rankings.

Who runs this

This directory is published by Apex Media. We’ve spent five years building local niche directories, and this one exists to help property owners find restoration contractors they can actually trust when water’s already on the floor. Listings come from published review data and public records, not paid placement, and we re-check that data monthly so rankings stay current. Editorial oversight of the rankings sits with Priya Tan, Editorial Lead.

Each listing carries a “last verified” date showing when we last checked it, so you can see the maintenance is ongoing rather than a one-time setup.
